Are you insured?
Absolutely! I am fully insured. I also advise my couples to obtain wedding insurance for peace of mind.
What is your shooting style?
I believe in keeping images timeless and want you to look back on your images in 5, 10 or even 15 years time and still think they’re classic, therefore I like to keep everything as natural and true to life as possible, and don’t tend to deviate from the natural, light and airy photography. I love to include some elegant and timeless black and white images amongst my galleries.
What camera and equipment do you use?
I shoot with 2 professional Nikon camera bodies and have many different lenses to change depending on the setting.
Do you edit images?
Yes. All images are edited using the leading industry software, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I look at every image individually and work on them one by one. I edit subtly; I’ll remove blemishes but never make you look airbrushed; unless of course that’s exactly what you want. I make you look like you.
Any extensive editing such as airbrushing or removing/changing objects from the image are charged individually as these edits are very time consuming for a photographer. It can often take several hours per image or alternatively they have to be sent away to professional retouchers who specialise in image editing. What I suggest is choosing a few of your absolute favourite images you’d like extensively edited and stick to those few for your wall art or larger images in your albums. Prices are based on the extensiveness of the edit.
Do you or can you bring along a second photographer?
Absolutely! A second photographer means more capture. They are my eyes for the things I can’t possibly ever see. All of my full day packages include a second photographer as part of the package but it can also be added on to my short day and half day package if required. I routinely use the same second photographer Rachael, however if Rachael is unavailable for any reason, I have several others that I can hire to shot alongside me. They can capture your guests mingling whilst I have you for portraits or capture the finer details of your portraits or alternative angles whilst I’m capturing the full length shots, they can capture your reception room decor whilst I’m finalising the group shots, they can capture one half of the couple whilst I capture the other at morning prep. So you see, hiring that second photographer means there won’t be too many missed moments. Hiring a second photographer is not the cost of your main photographer times 2! A second photographer is hired at a rate of £300 for the whole day or £200 for 2 hours of bridal or groom prep. So you see it makes sense to have them for the whole day. And why are they only priced at £300 whilst you’re more than double that? Well once your wedding day is done, so is theirs. They hand me the cards from their cameras and they’re on their way. I still have weeks of editing ahead of me to deliver the most perfect of galleries to you!
How far do you travel for a wedding?
I will travel all over Scotland and the UK. 100 miles round trip is included in my fee. Further afield and overnight stays will incur an extra charge
How do I book?
I’m so glad we’ve got to this point! Booking is a simple process. Complete the ‘Contact’ form on this page by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottom of this page or on the ‘Home’ page and I will be in touch. First of all to check that your date is available, and if so, to complete my online questionnaire. This will give me a little bit more information about your day and what your needs are. Once we have established this and had a little chit-chat, I will request a NON-RETURNABLE booking fee of £200. This will secure your date. And that is it, it’s as simple as that and we get to become family.
I keep in contact with you for the duration of your booking; I invite you into the studio to have a few consultations with a glass of bubbly before your wedding day. If you can’t attend in person, I give the option of as many zoom calls as you’d like to chat things over. This gives us the chance to get your photography vision nailed down, because let’s face it, once the day is done, all that’s left is the core memories, I’m here to ensure those core memories are captured and cemented in your history.
As part of all my full day wedding packages, I offer a complimentary engagement style photoshoot. This can happen anytime between booking and ideally 6/8 weeks before your wedding day - I find that anything closer than this to your wedding, you’re too busy in your little organising bubble. It allows for a practice run in a sense, and gives you a little idea of what it feels like to do some gently directed posing …. which you may hate and then decide it’s candid photography all the way! Your photoshoot can be anywhere you want it to be; somewhere special, the site of your engagement proposal, a beach, a forest walk, an urban city shoot. But wherever you choose needs to be within reason and ideally within 25/30 mile radius of my home in ML1. It can also be really helpful if I shot it at your wedding venue as it gets you comfortable with having the photography taken in these surrounding and will be less daunting on the wedding day. I understand this isn’t always possible due to commitments and bookings already held with the venue or if there’s travelling involved; so in these circumstances, we would aim for a location closer to home. And this little shoot would be perfect for your ‘Save the Date’ cards.
As I have limited availability, especially during weekends and during peak wedding season (April to September), these photoshoots a lot of the time must be done either during week days or on a Sunday. But I will always try and accommodate you when I can.
What if I need to cancel?
I encourage all my couples to have wedding insurance for this purpose. I understand that things happen in life and issues arise. And hopefully you don’t need to cancel your wedding but instead postpone. But if something unexpected arises, I will endeavour to move your date to your new chosen date (if available). I will only be able to accommodate 2 changes of dates (if available) and if the date needs to be changed a 3rd time, the original £200 booking fee will be retained by Eliza T Photography AND a new booking; including a £200 NON REFUNDABLE booking fee will be required.
Do you capture morning preparations?
Absolutely! It’s actually my favourite part of any wedding day. My full day packages include morning preparations. Unfortunately if you book my half day package and want this part of your day captured, I can’t do both as there is just no time. If you hire a second shooter as an add on to your wedding package, one of us will photograph one half of the couple with their wedding party and the other will photograph the other with their wedding party.
How long do you shoot for on a wedding day?
A typical wedding day for me normally lasts around 10 hours. Morning preparations, followed by the ceremony, then couples shots and group shots and finally the speeches. I would then take a break to recharge before capturing the first few dances in the evening reception. I’ve seen enough weddings in my time time to know that on occasions the wedding meal can run over, and therefore I allow for an extra 1 hour, but any additional hours over the chosen package hours will incur a charge of £100 per hour thereafter.
Additional activities on the day such as singing servers will incur an additional charge of £100, as this is the time I would take a break to re-charge and it means that I would be working for up to 10 hours with no break.
What type of photography can we expect?
I want to capture it all! Although sometimes it’s not possible to capture every single detail of a day and that’s why I always encourage my couples to hire a second photographer who works alongside me, and captures the parts that I physically can’t see. What I aim for is a vast mix of scenes from your morning preparations; hair, makeup, getting dressed, accessories, ceremony and venue shots including flowers, aisle, table decor, ceremony shots; walking down the aisle, exchanging rings, first kiss, group shots of family members, couples portraits, speeches and finally up to the first 3 or 4 dances from the evening reception. And a whole mix of candid shots of your guests that they don’t even know are being taken. This will give you a documentary style selection of your special day.
How many images can I expect to receive?
I believe in quality over quantity; there’s nothing worse than seeing so much repetition in a wedding gallery so what I do is chose 1 or 2 of a similar image (even if I’ve taken 4 or 5 and love every single one) I’ll chose the absolute best of everything for you gallery. I aim to shoot approximately 40-50 images per hour so a full day booking of 10 hours, you can expect to receive in the region of 400-500 images. If you’ve hired a second photographer as part of your wedding package, this number will increase. But remember, quality over quantity is the key.
How long will I wait for my photos?
I am to have your wedding fully edited and on your own online gallery in around 8-10 weeks from the date of your wedding; this is normally a lot quicker outwith peak wedding season.
How will I receive my images?
Your gallery will also be available for you to access from the comfort of your own home over and over again for 1 year. It will be delivered to you online via an email prompt; this will be your own private gallery which you will access with your own chosen password. There will be tears, I guarantee there will be but they’ll be the happiest tears. Every image can be downloaded in high resolution and shared with your friends and family. I recommend you download your gallery onto Cloud storage as well as a portable storage device such as a hard-drive or a USB pen drive. My album packages include a USB of your gallery to keep.
Do you offer prints and albums?
Absolutely! All images from your day are available to purchase as prints. I use a professional printing service to ensure the best quality of prints that last. My Diamond Package includes an exquisite 10x10 inch wedding album which is presented in its own coordinating box, which beautifully documents your day. I plan and design your album chosing images that work well together and tell the story of your day. I aim to include up to 100 of your stand out images in your album. Prices of luxury wedding albums start at £495, parent albums start at £100 (although these must be ordered along with the album as this is a smaller storybook replica of the luxury album), and smaller storybook albums start from £250. I have many other beautiful products available to purchase which include exquisite mounted prints, print boxes and frames.
